SEO Recruit Action Items

Ensure Proper Permalink naming for SEO

SEO Recruit will attempt to put the keywords you are trying to rank for, in the permalink of you web page. If he has to change the link of name of your page, he will set up a 301 redirect on the cPanel from the old page to the new page. This way domain authority gets transferred to the new page.
He will help you plan your website structure. A little planning in the beginning can save a lot of work in the future. You know what they say, “failing to plan is planning to fail”.

Website Name and Contact Details

Make sure that your website has a consistent name and contact details across the Internet. As trivial as it sounds, this is a building block that is often overlooked.
The Site Name in Google Search is a good article to understand why we do this.

Website and Organization Schema

SEO Recruit will ensure that your website’s landing page has Schema.org @type WebSite, ContactPoint, PostalAddress, and Organization.
The language of the schema will be: JSON-LD Schema Markup.
SEOPress handles this under PRO, Structured Data Types (schema.org).
We manage the Open Graph site_name property with Meta Tag Manager or SEOPRess.
The reason we do this, can be found in this Google Developers Article.

Open Graph Site Name

SEO Recruit will incorporate Open Graph Property site_name on every page of your website. This way we ensure that your website’s name is right at the top of the Search Engine Result Page.

Page Titles

The SEO Recruit will check all the page titles of every web page to ensure the keyword you want to rank for is in it.
Aim for a page title of between 55 and 59 characters.
The page title is what the user will see in the Search Engine Result Page, so do ensure that you optimize the title to best convey to the searcher what the page is about.

Meta Description or Page Description

SEO Recruit will check every page’s meta description.
Aim for 155 characters.
Search engines decide what the meta description will be about 70% (rough reddit estimate) of the time. So do not fret if it is not what you set it to be, but note that search engines make the call on what it should be based on the page’s content.

Ensure Proper H1 to H6 Header Tag Usage for SEO

We check that on every page, we use a single H1 tag that represents your business’s main topic. Additionally, we ensure that H2 tags are appropriately used to break down subtopics and organize content into relevant sections. Ideally we want to work in a few keywords onto the H2 header tags.
We also ensure that the H1 to H1 header tags structure is incorporated in a structured manner.  Is this is not done, SEO Recruit will hand over the Dossier to SEO Rookie.

Ensure Descriptive Image Naming and ALT Tags for SEO

He will verify that all images on your website page are named descriptively with relevant keywords that reflect the content they represent in the ALT tags. If this is not done, he will hand over the web page to SEO Rookie

ENSURE the Robots.txt File

He will examine the robots.txt file to ensure search engine crawlers know what part of your website they can crawl. We allow the crawling of important and relevant pages while blocking access to irrelevant or sensitive ones. We also make sure that the path to the sitemap.xml is correct.

ENSURE the Sitemap.xml File

we will look at the sitemap.xml file to see if it is correctly configured to include all significant pages and posts of your website.

Google Search Console

We make sure Google knows about your website by using their Google Search Console. We introduce Google Search Console to your website’s sitemap.xml file, as well as ensure that all the relevant pages of your website is indexed. If your web pages are not indexed, Google will not rank your pages.
He will execute the function: “site:https://your-domain-name.com” and ensure that all the important pages on your website is listed.

Microsoft Bing Webmaster Tools

We make sure Bing knows about your website by using their Bing Webmaster Tools. We introduce Bing to your website’s sitemap.xml file, as well as ensure that all the relevant pages of your website are indexed. The main reason for the focus on Bing is because chatGPT makes use of Bing for it’s search results where the user chose to scan the Internet for answers.

Google Business Profile Setup Assistance

If you have a registered local businesses with an address we make sure you know about the existence of Google Business Profile to ensure visibility in local search results. Being listed on Google Business Profile is a start, being ranked number 1 on Google Business Profile is a completely different story. For Website Squadron to support your website in that regard, your will need to subscribe to the SEO Sergeant Package.

Bing Places for Business Setup Assistance

We will make sure that your local business with an address is registered with Bing Places for Business. If you already have a Google Business Profile (GBP), Microsoft Support makes it easy to import the date from GBP to Bing Places for Business. For ongoing Website Squadron support of your website on Bing Places for Business, you will have to subscribe to our SEO Sergeant Package. To list your website on a search engine is one thing, to rank it on a search engine is a completely different ballgame.

Time spent per page

If all goes well, he should spend between 15 and 30 minutes per page, depending on how good the instructions from the customer are.

He will generally not spend any time doing keyword research for a page, other than what he can find on Google. The SEO Recruit is not expected to use any tools other than SEOPress to accomplish his action items.
