We are unaware of a WordPress website that has the ability to be hosted on anything other than a cPanel. Wondpress runs on cPanel.
cPanel comes with the ability the backup a cPanel, and then to restore it somewhere else.
If you have access to your cPanel, you can do this yourself, or, you can give Website Squadron the access.
The major consideration in this is how much space your hosting provider has given you, and, what your ability is to send a file of multiple gigabytes in size.
Website Squadron can assist in these instances, but, you will have to take some ownership as we cannot speak to your current hosting provider on your behalf.
If your hosting provider is nice, they should give you a backup up copy of your cPanel, especially if you tell them that you are doing this in order to move to another hosting provider.
Website Squadron has done this with our hosting provider before, and the process is seamless.
Website Squadron knows how important your e-mails are, and this is usually our main consideration when moving.
If we follow the process set out above where we backup and restore your cPanel, then, e-mail moving is seamless.
No further setup is required anywhere.
The only consideration that has to be made is that this backup and restore plan can take up to 72 hours, depending on hosting provider’s response times. And you make a backup on a Thursday and the restoration happens successfully on the Saturday, those 2 days worth of e-mails could be lost.
How you set up your e-mail also matters, IMAP vs POP3.
And then as a final word, please consider making your own backups, as nothing in life and IT is certain.
To transfer a domain is a fairly straightforward process, if the domain registrar that you bought it from are responsive.
We will request your domain to be transferred from your domain registrar, and they immedietly get an -mail, and then the onus is on them to approve the request.
Some domains are free to transfer, but others have a cost associated to them. We will take that cost unto ourselves in a show of good faith that your move is a long term plan, and not a jaunt.
The probability that your WordPress website’s plugins are outdated, is quite high. And in all fairness, could be the reason why you have decided to look at Website Squadron to do it for you in the first place.
We will make sure that all your plugins are updated, especially the ones that we have licenses for. And now that your are in our infrastructure, we will clock into your website at least once a month to make sure that all is well with your website plugin status.
Your website theme is most likely going to be the most problematic in this process. Depending on the web developer that initially built your website. Professional themes usually keep up to date with the version of Elementor Pro, but some themes do not. We will have to take this on a case by case basis.
Worst case you will have to buy your theme.
Website Squadron will assign a SEO Recruit to your website, that will make sure all the bare neccesitaies are incorporated on your website, on all the pages.
If you have a requirement for a more comprehensive Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy, we can discuss your requirement and the costs involved with that.
The Quick Strike Package only covers your transfer and hosting and management with Website Squadron. SEO is a different topic, but, we will not do any SEO if your website is not hosted with us. We do not sell standalone SEO services, due to the reputational risks involved.
Any further development will have to be done under the Full Assault Package. This package also has an SEO Rookie assigned to it.
All legitimate reasons not to have a website… Website Squadron is not here to judge.
The only reason we would suggest for anyone who wants any sort of online presence, is because of time.
Every single search profile out there has a score it allocates based on how long the website or profile has been active. And these profiles need to know about each other.
Lets say you are a rugby player that is doing well with TikToks. Eventually, you will want to sell products, services, consultations. A website is a great place to consolodate your offers. Use social media to drive traffic to your website. Your website will then, in time, rank, and then you can leverage this traffic.
Ranking on search engines and social media profiles takes a long time, months to years, and if you plant the seeds now, you will be able to reap the rewards when the season is right.
Do not catch yourself in a position where you suddenly need a website for business leads or search engine traffic, and only then do you want to start building social proof. Your competitors already started yesterday, and by that time, it will take a lot more money and a lot more effort to play catchup.
